In the Tongan culture, the wedding celebration last for about 3 days. The brides dowry is given then to the grooms family and the quilt was the part of the dowry that tied everything together. In return the grooms family has to choose one item in the dowry to give to the couple. Boy did we cross our fingers in hopes that they would choose the quilt to give to them.
